Laurent Guilbert

Fascinated by prehistory and palaeoanthropology since childhood, Laurent Guilbert has devoted much of his creative life to exploring and sharing the long human adventure, in every form it takes. A digital content creator by training, he founded Mondes Préhistoriques to fill a gap in the French-language media landscape: a rigorous, sourced and accessible space entirely dedicated to prehistory and protohistory.

His approach rests on a simple conviction: scientific rigour and storytelling are not incompatible. That same conviction led him to design board games on prehistoric themes, to build this outlet, and to write a trilogy of novels whose first volume, Doggerland, La Tribu des Brumes, will be published in September 2026.

On laurentguilbert.com, you will find another professional facet of his work.

Doggerland, La Tribu des Brumes

Before the sea, there was a land. Around 10,000 years ago, between what would become Britain and continental Europe, stretched Doggerland: a vast plain of rivers, mist and forests where hunter-gatherer clans lived, hunted and passed down their stories. Then the sea rose.

La Tribu des Brumes (The Mist Tribe) follows the Mist Clan through nine episodes, from game-rich plains to the first great waters — a narrative where archaeological rigour underpins every scene. First volume of a trilogy.

Doggerland, the board game

✏ Authors : Laurent Guilbert & Jérôme D. Snowrchoff 🎨 Illustrators : Emmanuel Roudier & Yvan Villeneuve 📦 Publisher : SuperMeeple

Around 15,000 BC, your clan lives on Doggerland, a vast fertile land now submerged beneath the English Channel. Survive the seasons, hunt big game, build your village and raise megaliths. Each game reveals a different territory. The clan that leaves the greatest mark on history wins.

Our story

The site launched in 2026 with the ambition of building the French-language reference on prehistory and protohistory, rigorous in its sources, accessible in its language, bilingual in its reach.

The interactive chrono-map, the glossary and the in-depth features are the three pillars around which the project continues to grow.
